Hi All,

Thank you to all of you who supported our Rocky Mount Book Fair. The students enjoyed every bit of it! Also, thank you to all of you who donated to our Math celebration. The students had so much fun!

This week we’ve worked on creating line plots. Yesterday, we made origami frogs (and briefly talked about how this is an art of Japan’s since today is international day at the Rock), had them hopped and collected data of how far they hopped to the nearest quarter inch. We are still working on making sure our number lines are in equal intervals and asking questions to go with our data. Please check out pictures on Live From the Red Carpet.

Today, we attended two performances to help celebrate Rocky Mount’s international day. Some of our friends participated in the show. Please check out pictures on Live From the Red Carpet.

Just a reminder for those of you with rising Kindergartners:

On Wednesday, March 21st, Rocky Mount Elementary will host the rising Kindergarten and New Student Registration. It will be from 8:30 until 11:30 am in the Learning Commons. Please feel free to stop by the school between 8:30 – 1:30 on Monday, March 19 or Tuesday, March 20, to pick up the paperwork packet if you would like to get a head start on completing the registration forms.

Please click on the “Registration Info” link on our website for a list of the documents that will be required to register your new student.  Although you may not have everything necessary to enroll, please come to register anyways.  New students do not need to attend with you.  A Kindergarten & New Student Orientation and Tour will be held at a later date in April.  We can’t wait to see your smiling faces on March 21st!
